Painful experiences, people-pleasing, or living by others’ expectations can cause us to feel disconnected from our true selves. If you feel that you have lost touch from who you are, know that it’s possible to reconnect with your voice, your values, and the parts of you that may have been hidden. Rediscovering your authentic self starts here!

What I Help With:

I support individuals who feel disconnected from who they truly are, whether due to painful experiences, people-pleasing, living by others’ expectations, or masking. Feeling disconnected to who you are can lead to self-doubt, confusion, and difficulty knowing what you actually need, want, and feel. These experiences can leave you feeling like you’ve lost your voice or sense of identity, making it hard to trust yourself or make decisions that reflect your true values. Often, the outer world such as roles, responsibilities, and appearances can be the main focus while the inner world such as your thoughts, emotions, values, needs, and desires are put on the backburner, unexplored, or unheard. This can create feelings of guilt, overwhelm, or emptiness, especially when trying to prioritize personal needs. Feeling unsure or stuck of what brings joy to your life or what it means to live authentically can be a challenging process. â€‹â€‹

How I Can Help:

I offer a safe, nonjudgmental, and affirming space for you to process what you’ve been through at your own pace. Painful experiences, people-pleasing, or living by others’ expectations can cause us to feel disconnected from our true selves. If you feel that you have lost touch from who you are, know that it’s possible to reconnect with your voice, your values, and the parts of you that may have been hidden. Together, we can explore what authenticity means for you and help you feel more grounded, confident, and aligned with the person you want to be.

My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and rooted in respect for your unique journey. We may draw on tools from modalities like Internal Family Systems (IFS), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychodynamic Therapy, or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). The most effective approach will vary depending on your specific experiences and needs, as well as what feels right for you. 

Finding, connecting, or rediscovering yourself can feel challenging. This space is for you to explore who you are, build greater self-awareness, and explore your emotions, thoughts, wants, needs, beliefs, wishes, and desires. Small steps toward your true self begins here!
